The annual event for Yokohama employees and dealers allows dealers to test drive different types of Yokohama tires on the same vehicle. These four Scion vehicles will be making their way around the country for test drives in major cities.

These custom aluminum fabricated 18″ tall letters were painted with a special sign paint to withstand the elements. The polished steel fabricated logo at 27″ in diameter finishes this upscale sign. So, how does a Chevy Tahoe got from stock white to a brilliant red, white and blue design? First, our award-winning team of graphic designers meet with our customers to determine what is it they are trying to achieve with their wrap. Is your wrap primarily going to be an extension of your brand? Are you promoting a specific product? Or do you want to raise awareness of a certain topic? Once we understand your objectives, we move on to aesthetics – will this be a bold statement, or a more conservative extension of your established brand? Once your design is complete, we move to the production phase: printing, laminating and trimming your vehicle wrap material. We use only the highest quality wrap products on the market, 3M and Oracal wrapping casts and over-laminates, for longevity and durability of your wrap.

When the material is all prepped and ready, our installation team moves onto the job. Our vinyl ninjas have over 20 years of experience working on vehicle wraps and graphics. You can rest assured your wrap will be expertly applied. Most vehicle wraps can be completed in 1-2 days, but we strongly suggest leaving your vehicle with us overnight at a minimum. This way, we can have time to let the wrap “cure” in the sun, making sure all areas of the wrap are adhering properly.

Of course, as with most things, yur wrap will last longer when properly cared for. Here’s what you can do:

1. KEEP IT CLEAN. Dirt and acid, particularly for those who live in big cities or near the coast, are a wrap’s biggest enemy. The best way to wash your vehicle is by hand with a soft, non-abrasive cloth using a mild (solvent and alcohol-free) cleaner and, after a complete rinse, let the vehicle air dry. The next best method would be a commercial “no-touch” car wash; but be sure to skip the heated drying process. Just be aware that some car washes may use excessive pressure in their sprayers – avoid these establishments.

2. WINDOW GRAPHICS: If you have perforated window film on your windows (it has small holes that you can see though), please take the following precautions:
- Do not use heating or defrosting elements
- Do not use wind shield wipers
- Do not open or roll down windows

3. MINOR VINYL REPAIR: During the life of the graphics, you may experience some minor lifting of the vinyl in certain small areas. Do not worry, but please NOTIFY US IMMEDIATLEY. We can easily fix this by applying 3M Primer 94 and carefully pressing the decal back into place. We will do this free of charge during the first year of your wrap.

Using Oracal’s 970 RA wrapping cast material in a matte white, this car was wrapped bumper to bumper. Following our standard procedures for color change wraps, we dropped the bumpers, headlights, mirrors and door handles to get a smooth, seamless finish around all edges. The entire process takes a week – and rush orders are not available for this level of detailed work.

We use the only wrap materials made specifically for matte vehicle wraps on the market. There are three manufacturers to choose from: 3M, Avery and Oracal. Each material is a 4 mil wrapping cast (NOT a sign vinyl) and will perform well. The biggest difference in the materials in the finish – each is slightly different – some have more of a sheen and some are flatter. Each manufacturer also offers slightly different colors.

Our prices for matte wraps start in the low $3000.00 range, and prices depend on several factors such as the current color of your car, any after-market modifications or body kits, and the level of detail you prefer on the finish work.

We strongly recommend having any body work done prior to wrapping the vehicle as any dings, nicks or gouges will be visible under the wrap. Painting is not required – just patch/fill and primer.

The process for creating custom graphics for a specialty vehicle such as a sand rail or dune buggy is a bit more labor intensive than your average vehicle, but at Iconography we make it easy. We start by taking details measurements of the surfaces to be wrapped. Once we have the measurements, we can build a template to scale. We then use this template to design your custom graphics in Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop, depending on the particulars of your design. Once the design is completed, we move to production: printing, laminating and trimming out your graphics.

These graphics are unique and cutting edge – the underlying white is a matte vinyl wrap. Detailed machine cut designs in the black overlay vinyl were difficult to weed and install, but look absolutely wicked on the car. Finally, sponsor logos were digitally printed and applied over the base wrap.

LONG BEACH, Calif. (April 2, 2012) – So Cal based vehicle wrap and graphic design expert, Iconography is no stranger to the Long Beach Grand Prix. Not only are they back for their third consecutive year, but for the first time they will be wrapping a car for Formula Drift, which is held the weekend prior to the Grand Prix on Friday, April 6th to Saturday, April 7th.

The team at Iconography is responsible for wrapping a Chevy Camaro SS –sponsored by Go Pro and Mobil 1– that is racing in the Formula Drift, which may be a first for the team, but they have plenty of experience wrapping race cars. One of their latest projects included wrapping the Flying Lizard commemorative livery for the No. 80 and No. 81 Flying Lizard Porsches for the 2011 24 Heures du Mans last June.

“We love being part of the action so working on a car that is racing in Formula Drift is very exciting for us,” said Iconography Studios President, Sarah Naccarato. “The Grand Prix of Long Beach is such a fun event for us, whether we’re putting on demonstrations, checking in with friends and clients from the racing community or just watching the races!”

Iconography also produced and applied decals once again to the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach’s Indy Car in preparation for the 2012 event as well as the official pace car for the Port of Long Beach (The Green Port).

LIVE demonstrations of the wrap process will be held each day at booth #1004, where they will be transforming a bright stock silver GL450 into a natural matte silver. Demonstrations times vary during Friday April 15th, and Saturday the 16^th from 10 am to 5 pm and Sunday the 17^th, from 10 am to 12 pm.
