Vehicle Wrap Design by the vehicle wrap experts at Iconography. We are proud to have designed, printed and installed this full vehicle wrap for Equity Management Firm located in Anaheim, Ca.
When the owner of Equity Management Firm, Michael came to us he had a vision of what he wanted his full vehicle wrap to look like. He wanted it bright, fun and to have a “comic book” feel. To make that feel come across the design experts at Iconography had to start by creating some custom graphics for his vehicle wrap design. The first step was to hand draw the image, which took about 6 hours. Then the custom shields and type were created. It was then all put together and topped off with a carbon fiber hood for this eye catching design.

Once the wrap was completed and delivered to the customer, the customer primarily used the vehicle as a billboard that he could easily move from place to place and park for hours at a time. A vehicle wrap is a cost-effective way to promote your business; vehicle wraps offer the lowest cost-per-impression of any type of outdoor advertising. When you consider that a car wrap such as this one is essentially a relocatable billboard, the small cost over the life of the wrap is a very small price to pay.
How To Turn Your Vehicle Into a Billboard With a Custom Vehicle Wrap Design
Turning your vehicle into a mobile billboard involves a strategic process of professional design, high-quality printing, and expert installation to ensure your brand message is legible and durable on the road.
- Strategy & Custom Design
- To maximize impact, focus on clarity over complex aesthetics. Most viewers only have about five seconds to absorb your message while driving.
- Hierarchy of Information: Prioritize your brand name/logo, followed by a tagline, website, and phone number. Avoid bulleted lists or excessive text that creates clutter.
- Visual Impact: Use bold, high-contrast colors (e.g., dark text on a light background) and high-resolution graphics to ensure visibility from a distance.
- Technical Design: Use professional vector software like Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW and work on vehicle-specific templates at 1/10th or 1/20th scale.
- Material & Printing
- Vinyl Quality: Use premium cast vinyl (such as 3M or Avery Dennison) because it conforms better to vehicle contours and lasts 3–7 years.
- Lamination: Ensure the printed vinyl is laminated to protect against UV fading, road debris, and weather. Cast roll laminate will long outlast any type of spray laminate.
- Professional Installation
- Vehicle Prep: The car must be thoroughly cleaned (non-wax wash) and dried 24 hours before installation. Installers often remove mirrors, handles, and badges for a seamless look.
- Application: Vinyl is applied in sections using heat and pressure to ensure proper adhesion and to eliminate air bubbles.
- Legal & Regulatory Compliance
- Visibility: You cannot legally apply wraps (including perforated vinyl) to the windshield or front driver/passenger side windows.
- Local Ordinances: Some cities, such as San Francisco or Los Angeles, have specific bans or permit requirements for “mobile billboards”.
- Registration: Your state DMV may require you to re-register the car as a commercial vehicle once it is used for advertising.
