Matte Silver Wrap on Sprinter Van

Posts

Matte silver wrap on sprinter van by the vehicle wrap experts at Iconography. We are proud to have wrapped this originally stock white Sprinter van in a matte silver for our client, Company 3, located in Santa Monica, CA.

Our matte and color change wraps are an excellent way to completely change the look of your vehicle, without devaluing your car with an after-market paint job.  In fact, the manufacturers of the materials guarantee that the material will not harm your factory paint job, as long as it is removed within 5 years of installation. So, whether you buy or lease your vehicles, this is an excellent option for getting the exact car that you want, in the exact color you want.

A matte silver wrap provides a modern, sophisticated, and stealthy aesthetic that accentuates a vehicle’s curves without harsh reflections. It hides minor scratches, swirl marks, and dirt better than gloss, making it ideal for daily drivers. Additionally, it acts as a protective layer against UV rays. Matte finishes are less prone to showing water spots and fingerprints. While they hide dirt well, matte wraps require specific cleaning techniques to maintain their finish and avoid creating unwanted shine.

We use the only wrap materials made specifically for matte and color change vehicle wraps on the market. Our high quality cast vehicle wrap films are 4 mil thick and specifically made for changing the color of your car. These films are made by top-brand manufacturers 3M, Avery and Oracal, and come in a variety of colors and finishes. Most shops do not use these materials, but rather are using 2 mil sign vinyl. There is no comparison in quality and finish. Unlike sign vinyls or printed vinyls, these cast films are the solid color clear through, and do not need an over-laminate.

Avery or 3M Matte Silver Wrap Material?

What is the difference between the leading brands of matte wrap materials? 3M offers superior durability, chip resistance, and premium finishes, favored for high-end, long-term wraps, while Avery Dennison excels in ease of installation (Easy Apply RS), vibrant colors, and better conformability, making it popular for beginners and complex curves, though both are top-tier, with the “best” choice depending on project needs for longevity vs. ease of application.

The finishes on each are also slightly different in both texture and color, so the final decision often comes down to color choice. We highly recommend prospective wrap buyers come to our shop to view samples outdoors in the sunlight, as the pictures you may see online or even indoors in a book will not do these materials justice.

If you are considering a matte silver wrap or other color vinyl wrap for your vehicle, you would want to have any body work done prior to wrapping the vehicle as the dings will be visible under the wrap. Painting is not required – just patch/fill and primer. We do not do that work in-house, but could refer to shops nearby that we work with often.

The entire process takes a week at our shop – we disassemble the car quite a bit just as any quality painter would in order to get a smooth, seamless finish. We do not cut corners and try to rush these jobs in a day or two. Our customers tend to be those who prefer a quality job and understand that you get what you pay for.

If you are considering a vinyl wrap for your vehicle, we would strongly suggest you visit our facility to view works in progress and see the material installed – it looks amazing. You can also review color samples that we have in-stock from all three vinyl manufacturers. Give us a call today at 562-424-4353 to learn more!
