Plumbing Box Truck Fleet Wraps: Sarah and James did a bang up job with my fleet, and their design team was tops. I’m very, very satisfied with my fleet wraps…..! Check out the picture of green plumber “bubble truck”. I’ll be back for more very soon.” – Timothy Collier, Owner, The Green Plumber.
The Vehicle Wrap Experts at Iconography are proud to have designed and wrapped this fleet of box trucks for The Green Plumber, a local plumbing company specializing in gray water recycling systems. You can see their trucks all around town! We also applied matching graphics to their new storefront signage in Signal Hill.

Avoid These Common Pitfalls of AI Wrap Design
While AI can generate stunning concepts in seconds, translating those digital images into a professional, physical vehicle wrap is riddled with technical hurdles. Avoid these common mistakes by working with a certified design and installation company who has been designing and wrapping since before AI!
Here are the most common pitfalls of using AI for vehicle wrap design:
1. Scaling and Resolution Issues: AI-generated images are typically created at screen resolution (72-96 DPI). When blown up to fit a 15-foot van, they often become pixelated or blurry.
The Trap: A “sharp” AI logo on your monitor may look like a fuzzy mess of jagged lines once printed on large-format vinyl.
The Fix: Use AI for inspiration only, then have a professional recreate the design as a scalable vector file (SVG or AI).
2. Ignoring 3D Contours and “Breaks”: AI tools often design for a flat rectangle, but vehicles are 3D objects with complex curves, door handles, and fuel caps.
The Trap: A logo generated by AI might end up sliced in half by a door seam or distorted as it stretches over a wheel well.
The Fix: Designs must be mapped onto specific vehicle-wrap templates that account for every curve and hinge.
3. Color Translation Failures (RGB vs. CMYK): AI designs live in the RGB (digital) color space, which is much brighter than the CMYK (print) or Pantone colors used for vinyl.
The Trap: That vibrant “electric blue” on your screen might print as a dull, muddy navy, ruining your brand’s consistency.
The Fix: Always perform test prints on actual vinyl material to ensure the colors translate correctly before committing to a full wrap. Work with a trained, real-life designer who knows how to translate RGB to CMYK for printing.
4. Overcrowding and Readability: AI tends to favor “busy” aesthetics with heavy gradients and intricate patterns that are hard to read at 65 mph.
The Trap: A design that looks cool on your laptop can be illegible to a driver who only has 3 seconds to see it.
The Fix: Stick to the 10-by-1 rule: one inch of letter height for every 10 feet of readability. Keep the design simple with high-contrast colors.
5. Technical “Flattening”: Many AI generators export designs as flat JPEGs or PNGs rather than layered files.
The Trap: If you need to move the phone number two inches to the left to avoid a door handle, a flattened AI file makes that nearly impossible without redrawing the entire thing.
The Fix: Ensure your final design is in a layered format so individual elements can be adjusted during the installation prep phase.
