Vehicle Wrap Design Testimonial, Santa Clarita CA

Vehicle Wrap Design by Iconography: “Hi Team Iconography! The Flex and the Terrain look AWESOME!

I know I was driving Jan and probably James & George crazy!  I knew what I was going for and just needed to get there.  Well…we got there!  Everyone who has seen the vehicles LOVE them.  And, our “vehicle-only websites” are working too!  As a 3rd time (4th vehicle) customer, one that has also referred you, I have high expectations.  You definitely exceeded them. Thanks for letting me push you all, and then some, to get what we wanted.  We got it and we can’t be happier! Gotta roll – people love seeing us in our new cars!” – Courtney Bourdas Henn, Executive Director, Northridge Skateland, Mountasia Family Fun Center, Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurant

Iconography Studios is proud to have designed, printed and installed custom vehicle wraps for several vehicles belonging to the group of businesses including the Mountasia Family Fun Center in Santa Clarita, CA, Northridge Skateland and Farrell’s Ice Cream Parlour Restaurants.

This GMC Terrain is one of two vehicle wraps that was designed to advertise different yet complimentary businesses on each side of the vehicle. This is an excellent way to stretch your advertising dollars and extend your brand at the same time.

Common Pitfalls of AI Vehicle Wrap Design

Common pitfalls in AI-generated vehicle wrap designs include creating overly complex or cluttered layouts that are illegible at high speeds, using low-resolution imagery that appears blurry when printed, and ignoring the specific, 3D contours of the vehicle, leading to distorted text or logos. Other issues involve poor color contrast, lack of clear branding, and generating designs that cannot be easily translated into production-ready vector files.

Key Pitfalls in AI Vehicle Wrap Design:
  • Overcrowded and Complex Designs: AI may generate intricate designs that look good on a screen but become a chaotic, unreadable blur when the vehicle is in motion.
  • Ignoring Vehicle Anatomy: Designs often fail to account for door handles, mirrors, fuel caps, and body lines, causing crucial information to be cut off or warped. AI tools are designing to a flat rectangle roughly the shape of your vehicle. Real life designers use custom templates fitting to the actual 3D curves of your vehicle. AI designs in 2D on a flat screen without accounting for a vehicle’s complex curves and contours. This almost always results in distorted logos and text that “disappears” into body lines or is cut off by windows and door seams.
  • Low-Resolution Assets: AI tools may produce raster images that lack the necessary resolution (300 DPI) or vector format for large-scale printing, resulting in pixelated, unprofessional graphics. We have yet to see an AI generated file that has high enough resolution for a real-life vehicle.
  • Poor Readability and Typography: Using overly stylized or small fonts that cannot be read in the few seconds a vehicle is visible to the public. AI vehicle wrap design tools tend to use too much verbiage. Less is more.
  • Lack of Contrast and Branding: Using colors that blend with the background or failing to make the company name/phone number the main focus.
  • Unrealistic Textures: AI may generate complex, 3D-looking textures or gradients that are difficult to reproduce accurately on vinyl. The limitations of print are far greater than the limitations of the screen.

To avoid these, always ensure the final AI-generated design is refined by a human designer, converted to a high-resolution vector format, and tailored to a specific template of the vehicle.
