Vinyl Banners Are Quick And Easy Sign Solution

When you need signage that must be produced quickly for a temporary event, and it needs to be affordable, then a large format banner with your graphics digitally printed directly onto it is the perfect solution. We make these banners on a regular basis for each event at The Honda Center

Vinyl banner signs are a versatile and durable signage solution made from flexible PVC material, ideal for both indoor and outdoor advertising. They are commonly used for promotions, grand openings, trade shows, and events due to their affordability, weather resistance, and high-impact print quality.

Vinyl Banner Sign

Most large format digital print banners can be produced within just a few days, and next day turn-around is available for rush orders. Graphic banners can be printed with any design, pictures, text or combination of all three.

If you typically need the same size banners produced with different graphics on a regular basis, we can easily set up a process specific to meet your needs. Many of our clients simply upload their artwork directly to our files, and let us know when they need the banner delivered.

Vinyl banner materials come in different weights, grades, and textures. Mesh banners are ideal for large banners that will hang outdoors in windy areas for long periods of time. Banners with a super-smooth finish are a great solution for banners that will be displayed in very close proximity to your audience.

How To Hang Vinyl Banners

Vinyl banners are commonly hung using grommets with zip ties, bungee cords, or rope for durability, especially outdoors. For indoor, damage-free, or smooth surfaces, options include suction cups, adhesive hooks (Command strips), Velcro, or magnetic strips. Pole pockets are also effective for a taut, professional look.

  • Bungee Cords & Grommets: The gold standard for outdoor use. Thread bungee cords through the grommets and attach them to a sturdy anchor like a fence or pole. The elastic nature of the cords absorbs wind tension, preventing the vinyl from tearing.
  • Zip Ties (Cable Ties): Ideal for securing banners to chain-link fences or scaffolding. They provide a tight, semi-permanent hold and are very budget-friendly.
  • Nylon Rope: A classic, versatile option for hanging between trees, poles, or across entryways. Ensure the rope is tightly knotted (e.g., using a square knot) to prevent sagging.
  • Adhesive Hooks & Strips: Perfect for indoor walls where you want to avoid damage. Brands like Command Strips can slide directly into grommet holes or be applied to the back of the banner for a clean look.
  • Pole Pockets: If your banner has “sleeves” instead of grommets, slide a PVC pipe or metal rod through the pockets to keep the banner perfectly flat and professional-looking. This is common for street-light banners or trade show backdrops.
  • Suction Cups: Use these for mounting banners on windows or glass storefronts. Simply stick the suction cup hooks to the glass and hang the grommets over the hooks.
  • Screws & Washers: For long-term outdoor mounting on wood or siding, you can screw directly through the grommets. Use a washer to distribute the pressure and keep the screw from pulling through the vinyl.

Tips for a Professional Look

  • Prevent Wind Damage: If hanging outdoors in a windy area, consider using mesh banners or cutting “wind slits” (half-moon shapes) into the vinyl to allow air to pass through.
  • Avoid Sagging: Always utilize all provided grommets, not just the corners. This evenly distributes weight and keeps the message legible.
  • No Grommets? If your banner is flat, you can use Banner Ups adhesive tabs or heavy-duty Velcro strips to create mounting points without punching holes.

Also, when you are done with your banners and you don’t want them to go to the landfill, we will take them back and find a local non-profit that can repurpose them for another project. Check out the details of our banner reuse and recycling program here.
