Yamaha R6 Graphic Wrap, Los Alamitos CA

Yamaha R6 graphic gives complete makeover with a custom vehicle wrap from Iconography Studios, located in Los Alamitos, CA.

This once all-black Yamaha R6 now cannot be missed with its new camo graphics covering every coverable part of the bike. Motorcycle wraps are often times more complicated than wrapping an entire car, because the parts are odd shapes and very curvy. Our installers must take great care to make sure all material is properly adhered to the surfaces. The best way to wrap a motorcycle is similar to eating an elephant – one bite, or one faring at a time. If customers are able to bring the pieces to us already removed from the bike it will save a considerable amount of time and money on installation.

How To Do a Yamaha R6 Graphic Wrap

The material is printed, laminated and prepared in the same fashion we would do for any other vehicle wrap. We use only the highest grade vehicle wrap  materials on the market. All material is printed in-house on one of our Roland large format digital printers. All of our installations are done by a member of our certified installation team, either in-house or at another location nationwide.

Yamaha R6 Graphic Wrap Motorcycle

Motorcycle wrapping is more than just aesthetics — it’s a smart, cost-effective way to protect and personalize your ride. Whether you’re a first-timer or an enthusiast looking to refresh your bike’s look, wrapping offers flexibility and value that paint can’t match.

Motorcycle wrapping is widely considered more difficult than wrapping cars due to the bike’s high concentration of complex, non-flat surfaces.
The primary reasons for the difficulty include:

  • Complex Contours: Motorcycles feature extreme curves, deep recesses, and compound angles—especially on fuel tanks and front fairings—that require high-level skills to stretch vinyl without creating wrinkles, bubbles, or distortions.
  • Small Surface Areas: Unlike the large, flat panels of a car, bikes consist of many small, intricate parts. This makes it harder to gain leverage or find a flat starting point for the material.
  • Precision Temperature Control: Achieving a professional finish requires precise heat management. Overheating can melt or overstretch the material, while under-heating prevents it from conforming to tight corners or “locking” its new shape through post-heating.
  • Extensive Disassembly: To achieve invisible seams and full coverage, most professional installers must completely dismantle the bike, removing fairings, tanks, and fenders.
  • Durability Risks: Because motorcycles are exposed to high engine heat, vibrations, and fuel spills, even minor installation errors can lead to premature peeling or lifting at the edges. Extra care and special adhesives need to be used to make sure this doesn’t happen. Working with a professional installer is key.

A motorcycle wrap typically lasts 3 to 5 years, with the average around 4 years, depending heavily on the quality of the vinyl, professional installation, and how well it’s maintained and protected from elements like UV rays and harsh weather, with daily riders or those in sunny climates seeing shorter lifespans (2-3 years) compared to indoor-stored bikes.
